We are a Community Interest Company, limited by guarantee, set up specifically to provide a Healthwatch service in Havering, under contract to Havering Council.

Plans and programmes for improvement in health and social care services are proposed by NHS organisations or the local authority. In many cases, we will have supported the development of these plans in some way.

Our latest Monthly Financial Report shows income and expenditure for last month. The report is updated on, or soon after, the first working day of the current month.

Some business decisions are taken by our Directors under delegated authority, usually on grounds of urgent or because they are considered to be of minor importance.

All Healthwatch activity is governed by legislation. Healthwatch was set up by the government in the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, as amended by the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
