Healthwatch Havering supports emergency action to continue provision of services for patients of Maylands Healthcare, Hornchurch

The Maylands Healthcare Centre and associated dental practice and pharmacy in Upper Rainham Road, Hornchurch were flooded during the execptional weather experienced on 23 June. We understand that the buildings may be unusable for up to six months as a result.

Steps are being taken to ensure that services continue to be provided to patients of all three services. While there will be inevitable inconvenience to patients while remedial work is carried out, the Havering CCG has indicated that it is taking urgent action to ensure temporary facilities are provided. Clearly, these cannot be as good as permanent facilities but we support their provision as a means of ensuring continuity of care.

As we learn more, we will update this news item.
