Defibrillators in Havering - review of locations and ease of access

Defibrillators are used when someone has had a cardiac arrest, to assist in their survival until they can get to hospital. Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) are increasingly available in the community but are not always as accessible as they could be.

This report examines the availability of AEDs in Havering. Although there are a good many of them located across the borough, relatively few are readily accessible in emergency, when they are really needed.

We recommend that the Council and the health authorities campaign to ensure that as many as possible are made readily accessible.
