Superloop Bus Route SL12 - proposed alternative route

The route will run along the A12 Eastern Avenue from Gants Hill to North Street, Romford (passing King George Hospital, Goodmayes); thence to Romford Town Centre and Romford Station, then via Queen’s Hospital to Roneo Corner, Hornchurch.

As originally proposed, it would then run via Upper Rainham Road and Elm Park Avenue to Elm Park Town Centre, thence along Rosewood Avenue and Mungo Park Road to the junction of South End Road and Cherry Tree Lane, before continuing to Rainham Town Centre, and finally to the Ferry Lane Industrial area.

Alternative route

We propose an alternative route from Roneo Corner to South End Road. The principal objective of the alternative route is to provide a bus service linking:

• King George Hospital, Goodmayes
• Queen’s Hospital, Romford and
• the Rainham/Beam Park area

with St George’s Health & Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.

This route would run as follows:

• Queen’s Hospital, Romford - Roneo Corner – Hornchurch Road (passing Harrow Lodge Park and Leisure Centre) – Abbs Cross Lane (following the current service 365)
• Abbs Cross Lane - Hornchurch Town Centre (following the current service 165)
• Hornchurch Town Centre – Station Lane – Hornchurch Station – Suttons Lane – St George’s Health & Wellbeing Hub – Airfield Way – South End Road (following the current services 252/256)
• South End Road to Rainham (following the current services 165/365/372).
