Allied Health Professionals Public Awareness Survey

The support on offer for patients at their GP practice is expanding across Greater London, with thousands more healthcare staff working in local communities.

While people will always be able to see their family doctor when they need to, the NHS is giving people more options with the type of healthcare professional they can see at their general practice.

A key group of healthcare staff working in GP practices are Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). AHPs play a vital part in treating, rehabilitating and improving the lives of patients. In primary care, they include Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Paramedics, Dietitians and Podiatrists.  As part of a campaign to increase public awareness about Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), we are asking people about their knowledge and interest in receiving care from this staffing group. We are also keen to know if the public would be interested in receiving support from other healthcare professionals currently unavailable at their GP practice.

This is important as we are keen to ensure that patients understand the role of the healthcare professionals they are seeing, and to ensure that GP practices are delivering local services that meet patient needs.

NEL Training hub has been working with Healthwatch Havering and BHR CEPN training hub to develop a short survey we would like you to complete.
