Community premises and services

In addition to residential facilities and hospitals, health and social care services are provided in a range of settings in the community, including non-acute hospitals (and non-acute wards within acute hospitals) and teams of nursing and other staff who attend to people in their own homes.

In Havering, NHS commuity services are provided mainly by the NELFT NHS Trust although other organisations, including the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust and the Adult Social Care service of the London Borough of Havering, are involved. In addition, some facilities are also provided by private or voluntary organisations.

Reports of our visits to Commuity Service facilities are available below. Goodmayes Hospital is a mental health care non-acute hospital and Foxglove, Japonica and Jasmine Wards (at King George Hospital, Goodmayes) are non-acute facilities for mainly elderly people in need of rehabilitation services; both are provided by NELFT.
